I am really hoping she goes to a good home with someone who will appreciate her like I do. I am heartbroken that I will have to part with her because I love her so much.She is a beautiful large 26 inch closed mouth Kestner doll. She is absolutely stunning! She has light blue glass eyes, plump lips, pouty closed mouth, thick brown feathered eyebrows, hand painted upper and lower eyelashes, and full, chubby cheeks. She is quite large and heavy and is dresse in one of the most beautiful outfits I have ever seen. A talented seamstress made her ensemble just for her, and it consists of a purple taffeta dress with antique lace and pleating. Her bonnet is too die for! It is made out of silk ruched fabric with a flower applique and has silk ribbon ties. On her head is a very expensive blond mohair wig with tails. It is a tad too big for her, so I stuffed the wig cap with tissues and it now fits fine.On her feet are antique suede/leather shoes that button and vintage diamond patterned knee high socks.What I love about her is her big wooden and composition chunky body. It is a Jumeau French body and is marked in blue in back above the buttocks; Jumeau Medaille d'Or. This doll was made for the French market. She was handed down to the descendants of the original owner and the body was always attached to this doll, so it was not replaced.Condition:Her eyes were set to the fixed position over the years. The corner of her right eye has 2 small lines in it and there is a teeny tiny eye flake in the corner of her eyelid. Her head has no hairlines. However, there is a teeny tiny dark line on her lower cheek that appears to be scratch/hairline like (see photos). I do not know what that is, but it is not very noticeable. It could have been done in the making. Despite her flaws which are to be expected from a doll well over one hundred years old, she displays beautifully.**NOTE: In the pictures of her body, she is shown wearing her original threadbare wig and plaster pate. They disintegrated when I removed them so they will not be included. I had to throw them out.The back of her head is marked with a letter (can't make it out) Made In Germany and the number 16.This doll is absolutely stunning and display ready! She is breathtaking!!*STAND NOT INCLUDED**Due to the high price of this doll, we will not ship out of the USAWe do not smoke, but do not know how many smoking homes these antique / vintage items have been in for all these years. We have dogs an cats, but all our items for sale are kept behind glass or away from our pets. To save our customers money, we sometimes re-use packing materials.
